I have one newer machine, running win2k sp3 and when it runs the DOS application (the one I spoke of above) in full screen mode and then I use the ALT-Tab keys to switch back to the desk top the screen goes blank. I don't thing the machine is actually locking up, I think I'm just loosing the graphics.

The problem is that my DOS app is doing some critical real-time communications at certain times and that communication gets snarfled up if another application becomes the foreground application. Is there any way to block Alt+Tab and Ctrl+Esc application switches during these critical sections of code?

A user has a few Citrix applications open and is currently working on one in the foreground. They click a button and bam one of the background apps is brought to the front. The user has to alt-tab back to their origial app and continue working. This seems to occur most often with excel as one of the apps.
